Stratemeyer.orgThe Stratemeyer Syndicate was a "book packager" established in 1905 to supply publishers with juvenile and adult books in series. It was the brainchild of Edward Stratemeyer (1862-1930) who was a writer and editor of juvenile stories. The Stratemeyer.org site is devoted to information about the creator of Nancy Drew, the Hardy Boys, Tom Swift, the Bobbsey Twins, the Rover Boys and many other juvenile series book characters. |

Series Book Magazine IndexInterested in children's series books? Don't know where to get more information about your favorite author, illustrator, series, or character? I have indexed many of the references you might need to find info on juvenile series books to make it easier for you to do your research. Search by author, subject, title, periodical, etc. It has never been easier to find information about series books. |

Series BooksHardy Boys on DVDWalt Disney Presents the Mickey Mouse club serial of the Hardy Boys and the Mystery of Applegate Treasure is now out on DVD. On Disc 1, a featurette called "From Dixon to Disney" contains portions of an interview I did for the material in Feb 2006. Buy it on Amazon or your local store. Signed Series BooksTake a look at a number of signatures from series book authors and artists. Bobbsey Twins Format PageIf ever there was a series that is regularly misidentified by sellers (on eBay or elsewhere), it is the Bobbsey Twins. All series books can be difficult to identify for those unfamiliar with how to do it, but Bobbsey Twins books regularly get listed as "first editions" when the person has a much later reprint. This page gives info on some of the common formats to help you identify whether you have that valuable first printing. It is also the 75th anniversary of Nancy Drew (who still lives on in books by the current owners of the series, Simon & Schuster) and the 95th anniversary of Tom Swift (my favorite series and being brought back in 2006 by Simon & Schuster). In June 2005, there was a conference held in New York to celebrate the syndicate. Click on the days to see photo galleries of the events described.
